This mission aims to continue with the high-resolution characterization of the morphology of the seabed, in the three groups of this archipelago, whose work will begin in the western group, off the island of Flores.

The mission also includes direct support to a Hydrographic Brigade of the Hydrographic Institute, however already designed for the archipelago. The work to be carried out by this Brigade consists of surveying the bottoms within the ports and areas along the coast line of the islands.

On board the ship, there are thirty-four members of the garrison and three student Sergeants, who carry out the final stage of the Specialization Course in Hydrographics and Oceanography, allowing direct contact with the realization of hydrographic surveys of large and medium funds and small funds, to be carried out by the ship and the Hydrographic Brigade, respectively.
