On Friday, July 14, 2023 and in the context of the planning of the HNDGS regarding the international cooperation of the Armed Forces, a joint training PASSEX (Passing Exercise) was conducted between the FAC Simitzopoulos and the Invincible Gunboat with the German General Support Ship (GSA) FGS RHEIN of the Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2), in the wider sea area between Lesbos and Chios.
During the joint training, objects of advanced maneuvers, provision of First Aid, transportation of injured personnel and demonstration of firefighting equipment were executed, while in the context of the activity, the Commander of SNMG 2 TASK UNIT 01, Captain Thorsten Mathesius, was on board the J/F INVINCIBLE.
This joint training contributed to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, combat capability and cooperation of participants in a bilateral and allied context.
