Great benefits were achieved from the experiences achieved throughout the development of the initial In-Service Support Contract, the Temporary Global Support, (TLSM) signed in 2019. This provided, through a unique contract, In-Service Support for the Italian FREMM frigates granting preventive and corrective maintenance for Platform and Combat System sub-systems, spare parts supply as well as deployment services, fully exploiting the Through Life Management approach.
The aim is to improve and guarantee the support of the entire FREMM Class during the In- Service Phase. This particular Contract Amendment includes an increase of the budget for the acquisition of spare parts, new services agreed with the Italian Participating State (PS) and some technical and commercial modifications introduced further based on lessons learnt, during the previous four-year contract.
The signing of this new step underscores Italy´s confidence in OCCAR ability to effectively manage both production and In-Service Support contracts.
