A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet (TPF), making the transition from the Mediterranean Sea to the permanent deployment point in Vladivostok, passed the Strait of Malacca and entered the South China Sea November 7th the press service of the fleet said.
The detachment includes the flagship of the fleet, the missile cruiser Varyag, the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs, and the sea tanker Boris Butoma. The ships return to their home base after completing tasks in the far sea zone, the press release says.
During the passage through the Strait of Malacca, the sailors conducted ship training in air defense and damage control, the report said.
The ships of the Pacific Fleet left their base point for a long voyage in December 2021.
