The Warship of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) Teluk Hading-538 which is one of the elements of the KRI alignment of Satuan Lintas Laut Military 1 Jakarta (Satlinlamil 1 Jakarta) Military Cross Sea Command (Kolinlamil) suffered a fire approximately at position 05 37 853 LS – 120 37 395 BT, about 11 NM East of the Selayar Strait or 7 NM Tg Tuesday, South Sulawesi, Saturday (03/06/2023).
At the time of the fire, this Frosch-I/Type 108 ship was conducting a routine operation of TNI AL. The chronology of the cause of the fire is not yet known for certain, but it is known that reports of the fire were received by Basarnas Selayar about 14:15 WITA.
As for the number of personnel who were in KRI Teluk Hading-538 at the time of the fire, it totaled 119 personnel.
The entire personnel have now been evacuated at the Zalfa Ark TB which was then crossing the scene of Things (TKP). Until now there have been no reports of any casualties. Several ships passing around the scene are currently in standby positions to provide assistance among them MV. Golden Ace and MV. Green Wave.
A number of elements of TNI AL were also revealed to carry out rescues against the KRI Teluk Hading-538 soldiers including KRI Escolar-871, KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM)-367, KRI Sampari-628, KRI Terapang-648 and KRI Spear-629.
Currently KRI Teluk Hading-538 is attempted to be towed using a tugboat heading to the nearest mainland for the next TNI AL will drop the team to conduct an inspection of the cause of the fire.
Chief of Staff of the Navy (Kasal) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali in a separate place thanked the public for the quick report given to the relevant parties on the fire that occurred at KRI Teluk Hading-538 so that it could be dealt with quickly.
TNI AL leaders thanked the Zalfa Ark TB, MV Golden ACE, MV Green Wave as well as all parties involved in the fire rescue effort at KRI Teluk Hading-538.
