With all the official welcoming and formalities done it was time for the SAS KING SEKHUKHUNE I and INS TARKASH to slip from the Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) car terminal where they birthed on arrival.
Whilst at sea various exercises were conducted like an officer of the watch, replenishment at sea, approaches and maneuvering. A boarding team from INS TARKASH also boarded the SAS KING SEKHUKHUNE I.
Successful execution of a Medical evacuation was done by the South African Air Force BK117 and its cabin crew together with the South African Police Divers who were on board INS TARKASH.
On completion, a formation anchorage was conducted en route to the anchorage just outside Algoa Bay both ships conducted a publication exercise which involved the officers of the watches and communicators on board both ships.
Exercise IBSAMAR is the first exercise that the SAS KING SEKHUKHUNE I took part in which created great opportunities for training for both Nations involved in exercise IBSAMAR VII.
On Friday 14 October the closing ceremony and braai were held for all participants at the Army Support Base Eastern Cape.
