With the mission of bringing knowledge to the riverside populations of the Pantanal of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, the Floating School Agency “Esperança do Pantanal” held, from February 26 to March 10, the first commission of the year. The vessel, subordinated to the Pantanal River Captaincy, traveled 13,1 km for 040 days on the South Tram of the Paraguay River, from Ladário to Porto Murtinho (MS).
Along the way, civic-social actions were carried out, monitoring waterway traffic and maritime vocational education. The purpose was to foster the maritime mentality of the residents and waterway of the south-mato-grosso region, thus strengthening the safety of navigation, the safeguarding of human life and the prevention of water pollution.
Due to the beginning of the fishing season, in which the flow of boats increases, a recycling lecture was held on March 2 to the waterway in the Region of Porto Murtinho. The activity was presented by the River Agent of Porto Murtinho, Auxiliary Lieutenant Captain of the Navy Fabiano Gonçalves Crespo, who explained the role of the Brazilian Navy (MB), the main types of performance, the commandments of Navigation Safety and the impacts of irregular garbage disposal.
“Every time I recycle, I learn something new and remember the importance of items we use on a day-to-day life, through examples, reports and images. It is interesting to participate in the lecture, who is starting to learn and who already works in the area recalls”, reported the aquaviary Dario Ramires, commander of tourism vessel.
