Freezing Winds 24 is the Finnish Navy’s annual main exercise for international naval operations. The exercise takes place 18–29 November along the Finnish coast and in the Baltic Sea.

During Freezing Winds 24, HMS Sundsvall has, among other things, practiced submarine hunting in close quarters, acting in mine-dangerous areas and command of MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft) for deployment and coordination of naval target robots.

In recent days, HMS Sundsvall has acted in a scenario where Swedish, Finnish and Danish units are scattered in Swedish, Finnish and Estonian waters to face an opponent from two threat directions. We have also practiced supplying and tactical reloading of the corvette’s main weapon, naval target robot 15, supplied by Finland, says naval captain Jonas Löfgren.
