The Royal Netherlands Navy is postponing the public event Navy Days for a year from 2027 to 2028. The reason is the amount of work on and around the naval port.
For example, urgent maintenance is needed on the jetties, extra security gates are placed in the port, and the parking lot is not available. Road works are also planned in Den Helder that will cause additional traffic disruption.
Postponing the event will make it possible to go bigger in 2027 at the anniversary edition of the World Port Days in Rotterdam.
The Navy Days, formerly known as Fleet Days, have been taking place since 1956 to introduce the wider public to the maritime armed forces.
