On a small hydrographic vessel « Yakov Lapushkin » raised the flag
TAMTO, August 21. On August 21, in Kronstadt, on the Leningrad VMB, the flag-raising ceremony of the hydrographic service of the Russian Navy on the ship « Yakov Lapushkin », built on the GCC « Vimpel » enters JSC ( OSK « », was held.
The ceremony was attended by the head of the Department of Navigation and Oceanography of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Konstantin Speransky, representatives of the command of the Leningrad Naval Base, deputy general director for the production of GCC « Vimpel » Dmitry Lavrentiev, Baltic sailors, Yakov Lapushkin’s family.
This is the second small hydrographic vessel built on the GCC « Impel » in the interests of the Ministry of Defense. It went through a full range of tests. MGS « Yakov Lapushkin » will perform tasks as part of the Baltic Fleet’s hydrographic service unit.
The ship was named by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy in honor of the Soviet naval figure, navigator, military hydrograph, Rear Admiral, who headed the hydrography department of the USSR Navy from 1938 to 1947.
The 19910 MGS project is designed to perform the tasks of setting and removing navigation sea buoys and milestones of all types, servicing coastal and floating navigation aids, for researching bottom terrain, transporting people and goods.
