During a March 24th monitoring carried out by a Portuguese Air Force aircraft, two vessels suspected of participating in drug trafficking activities were detected, having been verified that they did not have an identification set, name, or flag, which led to their seizure and driving of its crew to the nearest port for further identification. There were still 58 empty fuel jerricans on board.
The approach to the vessels was carried out by two high-speed vessels, one belonging to the Navy, and operated by Marines, and another by the Maritime Police. As a precautionary measure, the seven individuals were transported to Faro for further identification, as well as the vessels were seized, and the Public Ministry was contacted for further steps.
