As part of the BRACOLPER 2026 multinational exercise, naval units from the Peruvian, Brazilian, and Colombian navies took part in a live-fire exercise against land-based targets on the Rio Negro in Brazil, aiming to strengthen coordination and response capabilities in combined riverine operations.
The training involved BAP Castilla, ARC Reyes, and the Brazilian Raposo Tavares, Rondônia, and Amapá. The activity included the use of two targets and the execution of various firing phases established for the exercise.
The session began with the units approaching the firing area, followed by live-fire exercises from both the port and starboard sides, allowing the participating crews to test their coordination, precision, and response capabilities.
This training strengthened interoperability and operational cooperation among the three nations’ naval forces through the exchange of experiences, procedures, and techniques applicable to combined riverine operations.
Peru’s participation in BRACOLPER 2026 reaffirms the Peruvian Navy’s commitment to the continuous training of its personnel and the efficient use of its units, contributing to strengthened naval cooperation and the presence of the participating institutions in the Amazon region.
