Samarthak, the first Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) indigenously designed and constructed by Larsen Toubro Shipyard, was delivered to the Indian Navy on August 27.
The ship is engineered to support a wide spectrum of maritime missions & will serve as a versatile trial and evaluation platform, maritime operations and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations. The name signifies ship’s intended role as a dependable enabler of multiple missions.
With over 75% Indigenous Content and Built to Class, Samarthak reaffirms nation’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat while showcasing the growing prowess of India’s indigenous Warship building industry.
