In order to expand surveillance and strengthen security in the coastal areas of the country, the Minister of Public Security, Juan Manuel Pino, inaugurated a new “modern and equipped” headquarters of the National Aeronaval Service, located in the hard-to-reach community of Santa Catalina or Calovébora, a district located in the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca.

Minister Pino, who was accompanied by the general director of the National Air and Naval Service, Jeremías Urieta, highlighted the importance of the new Senan Post, a project of great importance for this area of the country, an indigenous area that has a Health Center, the Primary and Secondary School of the Ministry of Education, where there are 600 children.

When addressing the community, Minister Pino indicated that this Senan Surveillance Post will help in security in the District of Santa Catalina, considered one of the largest in the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca and is also an important project for the custody of the coasts, so he thanked Reynando Hernandez for the donation of the land where the new headquarters was built.

The work was built in less than 240 days, with an investment for materials and equipment of B /. 71,884.24, a headquarters that will allow assigned units to remain in the community permanently, offering children, youth and the entire population the security and peace they deserve.
