Upon arrival, elements of the Naval Port Protection Unit (UNAPROP), attached to the Sixteenth Naval Zone, in close coordination with the Lázaro Cárdenas Maritime Customs, carried out inspection work on the containers transported on board the vessel. During the review, with the support of a canine binomial specialized in narcotics detection, irregularities were identified in a commercial load, where five packages containing 139 bricks weighing approximately 137 kilograms of alleged cocaine were hidden.

As a result of these actions, five people of Ecuadorian nationality were arrested, allegedly involved in the commission of illegal acts. The detainees were read their rights under the law and, together with the seized drugs, they were placed at the disposal of the corresponding agent of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, who will integrate the investigation folder of the case.

It should be noted that this insurance represents an economic impact of 29,711,000 pesos, which weakens the financial and operational structure of criminal groups. Similarly, with this action, approximately 274 thousand doses were prevented from reaching society.
