KRI Selar-879, which is an element of the Patrol Unit (Satrol) of the Fleet Command (Koarmada) II commanded by Major Laut (P) Agus Solikhin, successfully completed the Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) Philindo activity under the control of the Maritime Security Group (Guskamla) Koarmada II, Sunday (9/3/2025).
The operation, which took place from 2-11 March 2025, aims to maintain the security of the Indonesia-Philippines maritime border from various threats, as well as strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The implementation of CORPAT Philindo this time involved two warships, namely KRI Selar-879 from Indonesia, and BRP Artemio Ricarte PS37 from the Philippines. In addition, one Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) unit from the Philippines also supported this activity by conducting surveillance from the air.
CORPAT Philindo is a form of bilateral cooperation that aims to improve maritime security on the borders of the two countries. This activity is also an event for Indonesian Navy soldiers to improve their professionalism and hone their interoperability skills with other countries in joint operations.
The implementation of this coordinated patrol is an implementation of the policy of the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali in guarding Indonesia’s maritime borders in order to face various potential threats, as well as playing an active role in maintaining regional stability.
