A joint Russian-Chinese detachment of ships is currently patrolling the Asia-Pacific region (APR).

“According to the patrol plan, the detachment of ships searched for a mock enemy submarine in the designated area and practiced pursuing it. To destroy the “enemy” submarine, the crews of the Russian ships used RBU-6000 rocket-bomb launchers,” the Pacific Fleet reported.

“During the next episode of the exercises, the crews of the Russian and Chinese Navy ships practiced repelling an “enemy” air attack. To repel the missile attack, Russian sailors fired from the Kinzhal shipborne anti-aircraft missile system. The ships also used passive interference systems to withdraw forces from the missile attack,” the press service said.

The large anti-submarine ships Admiral Panteleyev and Admiral Tributs are participating in the joint naval patrol in the Asia-Pacific region from the Russian side. The Chinese Navy is represented by the destroyers Xining and Wuxi, the frigate Lin Yi, and the integrated supply ship Taihu.

The ships of the Russian and Chinese Navy began patrolling in the Asia-Pacific region after participating in the joint naval exercise Beibu/Interaction 2024. A number of training and combat training exercises are planned during the patrol, including anti-submarine defense and sea rescue.
