The Philippine Fleet successfully carried out its simultaneous unilateral and gunnery exercises (GUNNEX) on March 10, overcoming rough seas and enhancing the operational readiness of its naval forces.
The Fleet’s guided missile frigate BRP Jose Rizal FF150 – PF and offshore patrol vessel, BRP Ramon Alcaraz PS16 together with Fleet’s pioneering landing dock, BRP Tarlac LD601, participated in the unilateral exercise performing a series of maneuvering and radio communication drills. Meanwhile, PS16 and FF150 carried out live-fire drills at the vicinity of 33 nautical miles southwest of Grande Island, Zambales, in the waters of the West Philippine Sea (WPS) that went ahead without a hitch despite turbulent seas, showcasing the Fleet’s unwavering commitment to maintaining top-tier readiness in any environment.
The 1st Philippine Fleet Unilateral Exercises 2025 officially commenced, showcasing exceptional coordination, precision, and strategic agility. These exercises sharpened the skills and effectiveness of participating naval assets but also bolstered the fleet’s overall operational performance.
