While in Papeete on its way to her home port of Nouméa, the overseas patrol vessel (POM) Jean Tranape participated in an exercise involving ships in formation called EVOLEX, involving six ships off the coast of Tahiti.
This maneuver took place as part of Exercise Marara 2026, alongside French Pacific units (the surveillance frigate Prairial, the overseas support and assistance vessel Bougainville, the POM Teriieroo a Teriierooiterai, and the tugboat Manini, and the New Zealand Navy patrol vessel Tekukupa II, based in the Cook Islands. This joint training exercise demonstrates the cooperative capabilities between ships of different classes and nationalities.
The day continued with a unique training exercise for the French Navy, featuring the first joint voyage between two overseas patrol vessels. The Jean Tranape and the Teriieroo a Teriierooiterai successfully completed their first towing operation between sister ships.
After more than 2 months of crisscrossing the different oceans of the globe, the crew of the POM Jean Tranape arrived on June 18 in Noumea, her home port.
