KRI Panah-626, one of the TNI AL’s mainstay fast missile boats (KCR) made by PT PAL Indonesia, once again showed its best performance in a joint exercise that took place in the Pacific Ocean waters on Sunday (12/1/2025). This exercise involved two elements of the III Fleet Command (Koarmada III) warships, namely KRI Panah-626 and KRI Bawal-875, with a focus on various tactical scenarios such as Tactical Maneuver, Flaghoist, and Replenishment at Sea Approach (RASAP).

Quoting from his official statement, Commander of Koarmada III, Rear Admiral TNI Hersan, SH, M.Sc., emphasized that this exercise aims to improve the professionalism, technical capabilities, and combat instincts of the soldiers. ” This joint exercise not only hones capabilities, but also strengthens coordination between warship elements in optimizing the effectiveness of operations, especially in the strategic Pacific Ocean region which includes securing the northern waters of Papua,” he said.

As part of the Operational Control (BKO) of the Koarmada III Maritime Security Group (Guskamla Koarmada III), KRI Panah-626 plays an important role in the mission of securing the waters of Eastern Indonesia. This ship was designed by PT PAL Indonesia with international standards that make it reliable for various operational scenarios. With a speed exceeding 28 knots—far exceeding technical requirements—and a modern sensing system, KRI Panah-626 is one of the reliable combat ships in its class.

PT PAL Indonesia’s Production Director, Diana Rosa, expressed her pride in the performance of KRI Panah-626 which was the result of a high-tech and innovation-based production process. ” This ship is a real manifestation of the dedication of the Red and White engineers at PT PAL Indonesia. With sophisticated weapons such as a 57mm main gun, 20mm auxiliary gun, and Surface-to-Surface Missile (SSM), KRI Panah-626 is able to support various operations, both military and strategic area security . In the future, PT PAL Indonesia will launch a more sophisticated warship with Naval Rules standards, ” she said.

This joint exercise also emphasizes the importance of the Indonesian Navy’s role in maintaining Indonesia’s maritime sovereignty, especially in strategic areas such as the Pacific Ocean which is the gateway to the national economy and international trade routes. With high training intensity, Koarmada III continues to strengthen the readiness of warship elements to face increasingly complex challenges in the field of duty.

As a strategic partner of national maritime defense, PT PAL Indonesia is committed to continue to provide quality warships that support the Indonesian Navy’s task in maintaining the stability and security of the archipelago’s waters. The participation of KRI Panah-626 in this exercise is also proof of the strong synergy between the national defense industry and Indonesia’s military strength.
