On August 8th, water damage occurred onboard HNLMS De Zeven Provincien. The air defense and command frigate was at the jetty in Den Helder while the crew was on summer leave.
The water damage came to light yesterday. At the Central Shore Guard in Den Helder, an automatic notification came in that parts of the ship had been de-energized. When a survey was taken on board, it appeared that water had flowed out of the fire suppression system. As a result, equipment was switched off.
