During the days in port, different protocol events and educational activities are foreseen in which the Midshipmen in Commission and part of the crew will participate.

Guayaquil (Ecuador) – The training ship of the Argentine Navy, under the command of Captain Gonzalo Horacio Nieto, moored at the Contecon terminal of the Maritime Port of Guayaquil, eighth destination of the 51st Instruction Trip.

During the mooring maneuver, the crew of the frigate covered the role of honors, the personnel formed on the main deck, the gavieros climbed the poles and salvos were made with cannons.

The welcome on land was in charge of the Deputy Consul of Argentina in Guayaquil Federico Kalbermatten, accompanied by the Commander of Naval Operations of the Ecuadorian Navy, Rear Admiral Oscar Noboa Estrella and the Advisor of the Argentine Navy at the Naval War Academy of the Ecuadorian Navy, Commander Patricio Gastón Vega. Local authorities, Ecuadorian Navy personnel and special guests were also present.

During the stay in this port, the Midshipmen in Commission will visit the prestigious Naval Superior School “Comandante Rafael Morán Valverde” and will tour the facilities of the South Naval Base. In addition, sports activities are scheduled with the personnel of the Ecuadorian Navy, in order to strengthen the bonds of camaraderie.

On board the frigate significant ceremonies will be held. Among them, the promise to the Argentine Flag by Argentine residents in Ecuador. Likewise, they will deliver a sword to the Vice Minister of National Defense of Ecuador, Vice Admiral (SP) Rafael Poveda Romero, and the memory of the Falklands War Veteran Corporal Segundo Martir Antonio Rivero will be honored, awarding a medal to his widow, in a touching gesture of gratitude and respect.

The “Ambassador of the Seas” will remain in Guayaquil until tomorrow, when she will leave for her next destination: El Callao, in Peru.
