The operational cooperation activity, CHEBEC 23, began on 20 November for a sequence of joint maneuvers between the Royal Moroccan Navy and the French Navy.

For this mission, the frigate Tarik Ben Ziyad, the frigate La Fayette and their helicopters will deepen their common procedures and know-how in terms of crisis management, security and maritime safety. CHEBEC 23 is part of the general dynamic of cooperation between the Moroccan naval forces and the French Navy.

As part of an on-shore planning process, numerous operational exercises were conducted, such as underwater warfare (LSM), anti-aircraft warfare (LAA) and anti-surface warfare (LAS). Dives also took place bringing together French clearance divers and Moroccan commandos.
