Frigate and inspection ship

The frigate Peter Willemoes is one of the Navy’s modern and powerful warships, which is specially equipped for air defense, but it can also solve many other naval tasks. The ship has a versatile range of sensors and weapons. It includes long-range radar systems, 76mm guns, 35mm cannon, torpedoes, machine guns and small arms, as well as missiles for use against naval and air targets. The ships can also carry a helicopter, for example MH-60R Seahawk or Merlin EH101. The crew is between 117-165 people depending on the tasks.

Come on board and see the 138-metre-long and 6,645-tonne frigate when it visits Aalborg on Saturday. Welcome aboard!

Or come to Copenhagen on Sunday, where you can board the 112-metre-long and 3,500-tonne inspection ship Thetis, which normally patrols the waters around the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Currently, the ship is dedicated to recruiting new employees for the Navy and the task as a training ship for cadets from the Navy Officer School as well as conscripts in the Navy.

At Thetis you can have a chat with the crew and hear about life at sea in Greenland and the Faroe Islands and about the many educational and career opportunities available in the Navy.

Thetis is one of four inspection ships in the class, which is designed to solve the Navy’s tasks in the North Atlantic, the Faroe Islands and Greenland in all kinds of weather. The ship has a 76 mm cannon and, among other things, heavy machine guns. It can carry a Seahawk helicopter in its hangar, and the crew is up to 65 people.

For safety reasons, bags are not allowed on board ships.

Welcome aboard!
