The planned activities culminated with the Final Critique meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Command of the 5th Naval District of the Brazilian Navy in Itajaí, Santa Catarina.
Itajaí (Brazil) – The Final Critique meeting of the thirty-sixth edition of the combined exercise “Fraterno” between the Navy of the Argentine Republic and the Brazilian Navy was held. The closing activity was carried out in the city of Itajaí, District of Santa Catarina, where the Brazilian Navy has the headquarters of its 5th Naval District (DN-5).
The staff officers of both navies participated in it; Commanders and Deputy Commanders of the units involved; the Commander of the Corvette Division of the Argentine Navy, Captain Nicolás Waldo Pérez; and the Commander of the First Squadron Division of the Brazilian Navy, Rear Admiral Nelson de Oliveira Leite.
The first phase of exercises began after the operational visit of the frigates União and Independência and submarine S34 Tikuna of the Brazilian Navy to the Mar del Plata Naval Base, where coordination meetings and protocol activities were held.
After that first phase, they sailed together with the ARA Sarandí and ARA Contraalmirante Cordero. In this northward transit through waters under the jurisdiction of our country, the actions corresponding to the PASSEX exercise were developed, with the participation of an S-2T Tracker aircraft, of the Antisubmarine Air and Naval Squadron.
