To kick off the cultural activities of the National Maritime Museum (MMN) and offer an attractive panorama to those who are vacationing in the city of Valparaíso, this historical heritage center on Artillería Hill will open its doors in the evening with reduced admission.

The invitation is for next Friday, January 27, when the MMN will open its doors exceptionally from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., beginning the activity with the presentation of the Chamber of the Alimapu Philharmonic Orchestra. Later, from 8:30 p.m., it will be the turn of the Band of Musicians of the Chilean Navy who will offer a concert that will last until 9:30 p.m., an instance in which they will offer a varied repertoire with classics from yesterday and today.

Among the permanent offer of the day, there will be the special participation of the groups of historical reenactors “Aconcagua”, “Fifth Region” and “British Unity”, who will accompany the visitors during their stay in the museum with traditional clothing . Also, as is traditional, the “Brotherhood of the Coast” will be present, who will personify legendary pirates and the “Vikingo” Cultural, Sports and Social Center, giving life to these fierce navigators.

For those who want to live a more playful experience, the “Sailor’s Trunk” will be available, where attendees can characterize themselves as historical characters and take entertaining pictures with their cell phones capturing these fun moments. Likewise, in the Puerto Didáctico room, located on the second floor of the museum, there will be a station with a “Lambe Lambe” theater (miniature animation theater), an instance in which they will be able to learn about the importance of Ribera Carpentry, a trade tradition eternally linked to the sea, to the construction and repair of boats and small fishing boats.

To end the activity, at 9:45 p.m., the national artist Paloma Valencia, founder of the dance and magic style, will present a show full of light, dance and illusionism.
