Within the framework of the activities programmed by the Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Navy, the oceanographic vessel B.A.P. “Carrasco” arrived on September 21 at the port of Paita to develop logistical and operational activities; as well as, actions of interaction with the population of the north of the country.
Upon arrival at the aforementioned port, the B.A.P. “Carrasco” was visited by naval and civilian personnel of the units and dependencies of the First Naval Zone, being the activity enlivened by the Band of Musicians of the Navy and traditional dances.
Likewise, on September 22, he received the visit of the authorities of the Piura region and representatives of public and private entities; as well as the media, where details of the capabilities of this scientific unit were given.
For the next 23, it is planned to carry out a guided tour for the general population, in order to know the main compartments that make possible the development of research and scientific study work in the maritime domain of the country and in the Antarctic continent.
After this last activity, the oceanographic vessel B.A.P. “Carrasco” will return to the port of Callao to fulfill other scientific activities of its mission.
