The frigate ARA Libertad, a training ship of the Argentine Navy, moored in the port of Kingston (Port Royal), beginning its official visit to the capital of Jamaica as part of its LIV Instruction Trip. The stopover is the seventh international port on its itinerary, which began on April 11 from Buenos Aires.
Upon her arrival, she was received by the Argentine Ambassador to Jamaica, Marcelo Balbi Calvo, accompanied by Consul Lucía Raffin and representatives of the Jamaica Defence Force.
During their stay, the crew of the Training Ship will carry out a program that includes protocol, recreational and sports activities organized in conjunction with local authorities, strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations.
Likewise, the Ambassador of the Sea will open its doors to the local community on Monday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 4. During the open days, visitors will have the opportunity to take a guided tour, learn about life on board and delve into the history and tradition of the emblematic Argentine ship.
After a five-day stay, the frigate will continue with its itinerary of the LIV Voyage of Instruction in which it is expected to travel more than 15,900 nautical miles and visit nine international ports, scheduled to return to the port of Buenos Aires on September 19.
