The frigate ARA “Libertad”, under the command of Captain Adolfo Rodrigo Ureta, arrived at the Mar del Plata Naval Base (BNMP) where it will open its doors to participate in the celebrations for the one hundred and fifty anniversary of the city, which was founded by Patricio Peralta Ramos on February 10, 1874.

Yesterday, the Training Ship could be seen while it was anchored off the coast of Mar del Plata, serving as a framework for the different celebration activities carried out by the municipality of the city.

From today until Tuesday 13, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and from Friday 16 to Saturday 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., visitors will be able to tour it, as well as meet and interact with the crew. The emblematic vessel is joined by the oceanic patrol vessel ARA “Piedrabuena”. In addition, the Music Band belonging to the Atlantic Naval Area will liven up the days at the BNMP nautical park with military marches and popular songs.
In this way, the Argentine Navy joins the activities scheduled for this new anniversary of the city of Mar del Plata, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary, with parties, free recitals, nautical parades, murgas and gastronomic attractions.
