The Indonesian Navy, through the KRI Makassar-590, distributed humanitarian aid to coastal communities affected by the earthquake on Palue Island, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Sunday (September 13, 2026).
The aid distribution was carried out in collaboration with the Maumere Naval Base (Lanal), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), staff from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, and volunteers from the Cristo Re Maumere Foundation who also arrived on Palue Island to support the handling of the affected community. The operation was under the control of the Commander of Koarmada II Rear Admiral TNI I Gung Putu Alit Jaya, SH, M.Sc., as Dan GT Gulbencal NTT 2026.
The aid distributed included 10 water tanks with a capacity of 2,300 liters, 32 water tanks with a capacity of 300 liters, 100 packages of hygiene supplies, 100 children’s clothing, 180 eggs, ready-to-eat food, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 30 boxes of drinks, 100 mats, and 50 boxes of biscuits.
In addition, the aid also included detergent, cooking oil, sanitary napkins, diapers, and various other basic necessities. All the aid was mobilized and distributed in a coordinated manner to communities in earthquake-affected areas.
