On November 18, 2025, the defense and intervention frigate (FDI) Amiral Ronarc’h carried out a replenishment at sea (RAS) with the force replenishment ship (BRF) Jacques Chevallier.
Replenishment at sea is an essential maneuver for operations because it allows the loading diesel, fuel, equipment, and food, while unloading waste when port calls are not possible, such as during deployments in crisis zones.
This RAS enabled recently arrived in the Mediterranean Admiral Ronarc’h to conduct various tests, test her installations, verify her compatibility and resistance to the flow rates transmitted by the BRF, to train her crew on deck, on the bridge, and in the engine room.
This unprecedented training with these two latest additions to the fleet has therefore allowed the FDI to validate its ability to carry out this maneuver, as part of its operational readiness, a crucial step before its first deployment.
