Project 23470 Andrey Stepanov on Sea Trials

May 12, 2020 (Google Translation) – The crew of the sea tugboat “Andrey Stepanov” continues to carry out activities in accordance with the plan of factory sea trials in the Black Sea.

The tugboat staff, together with the factory commissioning team, is trained in the operation, maintenance and practical application of ship systems, devices and mechanisms.

As part of the ZHI program, the crew of the new sea tugboat conducted a training on the reception of helicopters on board.

During the training, helicopters of the Naval Aviation and Air Defense of the Black Sea Fleet made several landings and take-offs from the helicopter deck of a tugboat in the Black Sea.

The event involved the search and rescue helicopter Ka-27PS and anti-submarine Ka-27PL.

After the completion of the design and construction complex, shipbuilders together with the crew will carry out an audit of ship systems, devices and mechanisms and continue its preparation for the next stage of the state test plan.

A new sea tug was built for a detachment of support vessels for the Black Sea Fleet.

The marine tug of project 23470 is designed to perform marine towing of ships, floating objects and structures in ice and clean water, escort ships and vessels in the waters of seaports and carry out escort operations by sea. Due to the availability of specialized equipment on board, it can carry out operations to extinguish various types of fires on surface objects.

In February of this year, the marine tugboat “Sergey Balk”, which is the same type of lead ship of this project, was accepted into the squad of support vessels of the Black Sea Fleet.
