Units of the River Patrol Division and the Marine Infantry Battalion No. 3 “Almirante Eleazar Videla” (BIM3) were trained in an integrated manner in river and riverine operations, according to the main mission of the Naval River Area Command.

The patrol boat ARA “King”, the patrol boats ARA “Punta Mogotes” and ARA “Río Santiago” together with the Marine Corps personnel, carried out exercises from the Paraná de las Palmas River, passing through the Talavera passage and Paraná Guazú River, until they reached the Ibicuy River.

The days began with the navigation of the units from the Buenos Aires Naval Station to the Zarate Naval Base, where they began operations in the cabinet on embarkation, disembarkation and riverside incursion.

Then, what was seen in the cabinet was put into practice, through the planning and realization of a riverside incursion in the general area of Mazaruca, province of Entre Ríos.

The incursion executed by the BIM3 Golf Company and supported by the Ibicuy River, was planned to be executed during the night, projecting from the naval units to a coastal sector to execute a blow in the interior of the riverside area. The particularity of the operational environment and the conditions of reduced visibility required rigorous prior training.

During the voyage, the personnel of the patrol boat ARA “King” gave, in a theoretical and practical way, firefighting instructions, abandonment roles, loading and stowage of material.
