The joint naval exercise, the 5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) 2025 has just ended, and PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) also felt proud of the success of the Indonesian Navy (AL) fleet in the joint exercise. Indonesia’s proud fleet showed off, competing and demonstrating quality equal to warships from other world countries.
“The Indonesian Navy’s flagship fleet that was produced and successfully underwent maintenance at PT PAL demonstrated optimal performance in various scenarios, on par with warships from other participating countries,” said Diana Rosa, Production Director who was also present at the opening of MNEK 2025.
No less than ten of the TNI AL’s flagship fleets that were produced and successfully underwent maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO) at PT PAL participated in this joint exercise. 60 Meter Fast Missile Ships such as KRI Sampari-628, KRI Tombak-629, KRI Halasan-630, KRI Kerambit-627, KRI Kapak-625, and KRI Panah-626, also participated in showing off their skills.
Not only the Fast Missile Boat class, the Missile Escort Destroyer (PKR) resulting from the collaboration between Indonesia and the Netherlands, KRI RE Martadinata-331 and KRI I Gusti Ngurah Rai-332, were also present. So were Indonesia’s flagship hospital ships, KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo-991 and KRI dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992, which are ready to support humanitarian missions.
Not to be missed, the Multi Role Light Frigate (MRLF) KRI Bung Tomo-357 which had previously undergone maintenance and repair docking at PT PAL also participated. During MNEK 2025, these ships have proven reliable in various operations, able to compete with warships from other participating countries.
Training in MNEK 2025 is divided into two phases, namely Harbor Phase and Sea Phase, Harbor Phase includes Lessen From Expert (LFE), Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), Tactical Floor Game (TFG), and OCS Plan/PRE-SAIL Brief. Meanwhile, Sea Phase consists of SEAMANSHIP , SAREX , PHOTOEX , and FINEX .
“The participation of warships produced by PT PAL Indonesia in MNEK 2025 is a real manifestation of the TNI AL’s trust in the reliability and quality of domestically made defense equipment,” said Rosa. This trust, he continued, is an encouragement for PT PAL to continue developing innovations in presenting superior maritime defense technology. The goal is clear, to support the modernization and combat readiness of the TNI AL in various operations.
As an industry that prioritizes mastery of maritime technology, especially defense, PT PAL will continue to support the progress of modernization of defense equipment for the Indonesian Navy. Not only producing and maintaining the fleet, PT PAL is also actively carrying out defense diplomacy through various opportunities. The goal is to improve Indonesia’s bargaining position at the global level.
More than 44 years of work, PT PAL is committed to continuing to escalate technology mastery and broader business product innovation. In addition to producing and maintaining the fleet, PT PAL is also actively carrying out defense diplomacy through various opportunities to improve Indonesia’s bargaining position at the global level. This certainly requires full support from the government, especially the Indonesian Navy.
