August 2, 2021 – The state tests of the project 23120 logistical support vessel Vsevolod Bobrov, built by Severnaya Verf (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), are nearing completion. The tests took place in the Baltic Sea for a week. Based on their results, a decision will be made on the acceptance of the vessel into the Navy.
In the course of its work, the state commission for the acceptance of ships checked the main power plant in full speed mode, the communications complex, navigation equipment, video surveillance, anchoring at the maximum depth and dozens of other points of the state test program.
“There are no serious comments on Vsevolod Bobrov. We plan that in the first ten days of August the acceptance certificate will be signed, after which the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy will make a decision on the date of raising the Naval Flag on the ship, ”said Igor Orlov, General Director of Severnaya Verf.
Logistics support vessel Vsevolod Bobrov is the second ship of Project 23120 built at Severnaya Verf. The lead ship “Elbrus” joined the group of support vessels for the service of the auxiliary fleet of the joint strategic command of the Northern Fleet in 2018. “Vsevolod Bobrov” is designed for the carriage of goods, towing, hydrographic research, assistance to ships in distress. Thanks to crane equipment and a dynamic positioning system, it can carry out loading operations at unequipped quay walls and in the open sea. Automation class A1 provides unattended service. The hull with ice class ARC4 is designed to overcome 0.6 m thick ice.
The vessel is named after the famous football player and hockey player, Honored Master of Sports, Honored Coach of the USSR, Olympic champion Vsevolod Mikhailovich Bobrov (01.12.1922 -01.07.1979), the only athlete in the history of the Olympic Games who was the captain of the football and hockey teams.
