In order to support the role of the Indonesian Navy in the field of diplomacy with friendly countries, two warships that are the pride of the Indonesian Navy, namely KRI Karno-369 and KRI Kerambit-627, participated in representing the Indonesian Navy in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2025 event arriving in Singapore on Sunday (4/5).
The presence of KRI Karno-369 commanded by Lieutenant Colonel (P) Tomosa Uskarlind Larosa and KRI Karambit-627 commanded by Lieutenant Colonel (P) Herwanto in Singapore was in order to participate in the maritime and defense exhibition which will take place at Changi Naval Base on May 5 to 8, 2025.
The participation of the Indonesian Navy is not only part of the role of diplomacy, but also an effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Singapore and expand maritime relations with the Navy of 30 participating countries.
In addition to showcasing the capabilities of domestically produced defense equipment, IMDEX is also an important means for Indonesian Navy soldiers to expand their horizons on the latest maritime technology developments from various countries.
The Navy’s participation in IMDEX Asia 2025 is part of maritime diplomacy efforts in line with the emphasis of the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali, that the Navy is not only tasked with maintaining maritime sovereignty, but also plays a role as an ambassador of defense diplomacy to strengthen strategic cooperation and global maritime policy.
