Two Members of Caspian Flotilla Returning from St Petersburg

The crews of the small missile ship (MRK) “Grad Sviyazhsk” and the anti-sabotage boat (PRDKA) “Yunarmeets of Dagestan” of project 21980 “Grachonok” of the Caspian Flotilla (KFl) will make the transition from St. Petersburg to the point of permanent basing in Kaspiysk after participating in the Main Naval Parade.

The inter-base and inter-fleet transition is scheduled to begin at the end of this week. The servicemen will make a 14-day transition through the Volga-Don Shipping Canal from Kronstadt. The route will pass through the Rybinsk reservoir and Lake Ladoga. MRK “Grad Sviyazhsk” and PRDKA “Yunarmeets Dagestan” will overcome a total of more than 2.5 thousand km and 56 locks that provide passage through water basins with different water levels.

Also during the transition, the crews of the ships will have to work out maneuverable elements – the passage of the ship narrowness, joint navigation, conduct exercises to fight for survivability on the move, training in communication and electronic jamming, as well as the organization of air and anti-submarine defense.
