The PT Caputra Mitra Sejati shipyard in Merak, Banten, has launched two 60-meter Dorang-class fast patrol boats, Hampala and Lumba-Lumba, also known as the PC-60M type, for the Indonesian Navy.

Indonesian Navy Commander Admiral Ali stressed the strategic importance of these patrol boats in his speech, noting that the country’s vast maritime territory with significant natural resources and potential requires modern means to protect against potential threats.

According to him, the construction of these boats was also a significant achievement for the national defense industry, demonstrating the ability of PT Caputra Mitra Sejati to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers.

Admiral Ali expressed hope that the Indonesian defense industry will continue to innovate and enhance its capacity to compete in the international market. The

Dorang-class (PC-60M) fast patrol boat series is built by various Indonesian shipyards, including PT Caputra Mitra Sejati and PT Karimun Anugrah Sejati .

Each Dorang-class boat is 60 meters long, 8.5 meters wide, with a draft of 2.72 meters. The displacement ranges from 440 to 520 tons. Equipped with two MTU 20V400M73 diesel engines, with a total power of 3,200 kW, the boats develop a speed of up to 24 knots. The endurance is 6 days. The crew is 46 people; an additional nine people can be accommodated on board.

The boats are armed with a 40-mm OTO Melara cannon , two 12.7-mm heavy machine guns. If necessary, the design allows for the installation of anti-ship missile launchers on the stern.
