October 18, 2018 – Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star arrived home Wednesday to Seattle following a six-month maintenance period at Mare Island Dry Dock in Vallejo, California. USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) arrived in Vallejo, Calif., today to a hero’s red, white and blue welcome sponsored by the City of Vallejo. With the crew manning the rails, the ship passed by the Vallejo High School Drum Line as well as several hundred residents of the city who came out to wave, display signs and flags and welcome the ship, the first fully crewed Navy ship to arrive in the city since 1996.
