The United Shipbuilding Corporation presented at the International Maritime Defense Show “FLEET-2026” the submarine “Amur 1650” with vertical launch systems and an air-independent power plant, developed by the USC design bureau “Rubin”.
This project has one of the largest ammunition stocks among non-nuclear submarines in the world: up to 28 weapons. The “Amur 1650” with VLS can be equipped with Club-S cruise missiles or Russian-Indian supersonic BrahMos missiles.
The project features high adaptability – it is possible to integrate the customer’s equipment. The extensive missile arsenal is capable of hitting both ground and surface targets.
Vertical launch systems expand the combat capabilities of the project. Thus, the non-nuclear submarine becomes a universal center for conducting combat operations at sea.
The “Amur 1650” with VLS is distinguished by high stealth. Its low visibility is ensured by a wide range of acoustic protection means, hull contours, and equipment with reduced noise. These features, as well as advanced electronic weapons, make the “Amur 1650” indispensable for reconnaissance and surveillance. The hydroacoustic complex guarantees a greater range of target detection. The effectiveness of these solutions has been confirmed by tests of Project 677 submarines, which have already been dubbed “Invisibles”.
The submarine is capable of operating for 60 days in both open ocean and shallow water conditions, even in the presence of anti-submarine defense. Its displacement is about three thousand tons. The crew consists of 42 people.
