After the completion of the construction of large amphibious assault ships (BDK) of the modernized project 11 711, it is planned to begin building a series of ships. This was told in the studio “Star” by the head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexei Rakhmanov.
We are talking about the ships “Vladimir Andreev” and “Vasily Trushin”, which are being built at the Baltic shipyard “Yantar” in Kaliningrad. The first two large landing ships of this project – the head “Ivan Gren” and “Pyotr Morgunov” – were built in 2018 and 2020. “Vasily Trushin” will differ from them in its functionality and displacement.
“Having completed the construction of the lead ship on the Yantar, we will be able to safely proceed to construction, and not in one place, but maybe in several places. Do not drive ships built in the northwest to the Pacific Ocean and vice versa – from the Pacific Ocean to the European part of the country. We have proved that the construction of serial ships is cost-effective without disrupting the state defense order,” Rakhmanov said at the Army-2023 forum in the Patriot Park near Moscow.
According to Rakhmanov, “Vladimir Andreev” and “Vasily Trushin” will be ready by 2025 and 2026.
Also, the head of USC said that the heavy nuclear missile cruiser (TARKR) “Admiral Nakhimov” of project 11 442M will go on sea trials at the end of the year.
