On Tuesday 02 and Wednesday 03 July 2024, training fires of guided missiles of the Hellenic Navy were conducted in the wider area of the Ionian Sea, in the presence of the Chief of General Staff Vice Admiral Demetriou-Eleftherios Katara HN.
Ships of the Commands, Frigates, Fast Boats, Surveillance Ships, Helicopters of the Hellenic Navy Air Force (DAN), as well as aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force participated in these firings, where a wide number and number of types of the Hellenic Navy’s missile potential were successfully tested, in complex and demanding scenarios of surface and air threats. The final result of the surface shots was the sinking of the two allocated targets.
This activity is part of the annual operational training program of the Fleet Headquarters Units, with the aim of evaluating and enhancing the combat capability as well as the operational readiness of the participants.
