February 25, 2019 – After weeks at sea drilling and training through a variety of challenging and realistic scenarios during their composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX), the Sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Carrier Strike Group (ABECSG) returned to Naval Station Norfolk Feb. 23. USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) and U.K. fleet oiler RFA Wave Knight (A389) successfully executed the northernmost underway replenishment (UNREP) conducted by a U.S. Navy warship since the 1980s, Aug. 25, 2017. US Ships Complete Live-Fire Exercise

February 9, 2017 – In conjunction with the Missile Defense Agency, guided-missile cruisers USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) and USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), along with guided-missile destroyers USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) and USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79), successfully executed a live-fire missile exercise off the coast of North Carolina Feb. 4.
