July 1, 2019 – In a significant development in the indigenous shipbuilding, Ministry of Defence has issued four shipbuilding Requests for Proposal (RFP) amounting to Rs 15,000 crore for the acquisition of various ships and craft for the Navy and the Coast Guard. June 20, 2019 – The U.S. Navy on June 20 released a request for proposals (RFP) for the FFG(X) detail design and construction (DD&C) contract for first 10 guided-missile frigates (one base ship and nine option ships). The U.S. Navy, in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) under an Integrated Program Office (IPO), released a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) Oct. 19 for the detail design and construction of a Heavy Polar Icebreaker (HPIB).
