Eisenhower (CVN 69) successfully completed its five-day fast cruise, March 25, in another step toward returning to sea for the first time since July 2017. “The crew performed magnificently,” said Capt. Ike Begins Planned Incremental Availability

USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike) began its six-month Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) in Portsmouth, Virginia, Sept. 17. “PIA gives us the opportunity to complete major ship alterations and improvements, as well as improve habitability for the crew, that cannot be normally completed in our short pierside availabilities at Norfolk,” said Lt.
