July 2, 2019 – The last Adelaide Class Guided Missile Frigate built in Australia for the Royal Australian Navy, HMAS Newcastle, was decommissioned at a rousing ceremony at Fleet Base East in Sydney on Sunday. June 11, 2019 – The Royal Australian Navy’s oldest Adelaide Class warship, HMAS Melbourne (III), has returned to Australia from her final overseas mission.
