In our Chimbote Operation Center, we held the ceremony of christening and launching of the Maritime Patrol BAP Rio Huarmey and BAP Rio Nepeña, both units form part of the Investment Project called “Recovery of the Capacity to Carry Out Surface Coast Guard Operations in the National Maritime Domain and Search and Rescue Operations”, and are built under the most demanding quality standards, acquiring new shipbuilding technologies through joint work and technical assistance with Korean STX Corporation.

Also, in our Callao Operation Center, we carry out the Protocol Act of cutting the first iron and the ceremony of Laying of the Coil, of the projects commissioned by the Peruvian Navy, and that we will build in co-production with the Shipyard HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Important milestone that starts the construction of a Multirole Frigate, an Ocean Patrol and two Logistics Auxiliary Vessels.

The construction of these projects is developed within the framework of the measures taken by the Executive Power aimed at the Reform of the National Industry, through the Strengthening of the Naval Industry in Peru, thus enabling the development of a series of activities that includes a plan of assistance that comprises several elements; such as technology transfer, training and strategic advisory and innovation.

The strengthening of the national industry will be a relevant factor, as it will seek to gradually increase the growth of consumption of domestic product, through the participation of Peruvian companies in the supply of materials and equipment with the quality standards required for this type of platforms.

It is important to mention the training of professionals and technicians by Technological Institutes and Universities, to meet the demand during construction of projects, and afterwards to accompany the life cycle of vessels in maintenance activities; generating new jobs and ensuring manpower Peruvian specialty.

Both ceremonies were presided over by the President, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, and were attended by the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo Chavez; Commander General of the Navy, Admiral Luis José Polar Figari; Chief of the General Staff of the Navy and President of the Board of SIMA PERU, Vice Admiral Cesar Ernesto Colunge Pinto; the General Manager of SIMA PER alm, Front Admiral Luis Silva Lopez, representatives of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, among other naval and civilian authorities.
