Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. together with its entities – PGZ Stocznia Wojenna sp. z o.o. and the Research and Development Centre of the Centrum Techniki Morskiej S.A. concluded a contract with the Armament Agency for the delivery of a rescue ship to the Polish Navy.

The official conclusion of the contract took place at the Naval Academy in Gdynia. In the presence of Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, signed by Jan Grabowski, Member of the Management Board of PGZ S.A. and Brig. General. Artur Kuptel, Head of the Armaments Agency, representing the ordering party. The contract will be implemented in the years 2025 – 2029, and its value exceeds PLN 1 billion.

Ship, which is obtained as part of meeting the operational requirements of the Polish Armed Forces, articulated in the technical modernization program pk. RATOWNIK is a specialized support unit, designed primarily to protect the operational activities of submarines thanks to its specialized equipment. Acquisition of this unit is directly related to another project crucial for the development of MW RP – acquiring new type of submarines (OPNT) pk. The ORKA.

RATOWNIK is another after multi-purpose fern frigates. 106 (MIECZNIK) and mine proj destroyers. 258 (KORMORAN II) program for obtaining water bodies for the Polish Navy, implemented in domestic shipyards and with the participation of Polish industry.

Basic parameters of the rescue ship pk. The ERCOUTOR:

  • Total length – approx. 96 m,
  • Maximum width – approx. 19 m,
  • The displacement of max. (including accessories and board) – approx. 6500 t,
  • The range – okay. 6000 nautical miles,
  • The speed is max. – 16 nodes,
  • The crew – 100 people + 9 additional staff.

Finalization of the pk program. The RATOWER is scheduled for 2029.
