On 27th September 2023, F-35B Landed back onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth after conducting routine flying operations in the Baltic region as part of Exercise RUSKA. Exercise RUSKA is a tri-lateral exercise between the UK, Sweden and Finland, executed in the Finnish range. The exercise demonstrates the credibility of UK Carrier Strike, delivering Strike at range – as well as the UK's capability to operate 5th generation aircraft in support of partner nations in the region. The UK F-35BS have been flying missions alongside aircraft from Sweden and Finland, such as the F/A 18 Hornets, Gripens and Hawks. HMS Queen Elizabeth will work with NATO and Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) nations - ten like-minded countries comprising Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Sweden, dedicated to stability and security in the Baltic region.
