A detachment of Northern Fleet (NF) ships left the port of Dudinka in the direction of the Kara Sea. This was reported by the NF press service.
“A detachment of Northern Fleet ships, consisting of the large anti-submarine ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov and the large landing ship Alexander Otrakovsky, left the port of Dudinka in the direction of the Kara Sea,” the statement said.
According to the press service of the Northern Fleet, the Northern Fleet sailors spent a week in the capital of Taimyr. During their stay in Taimyr, the Northern Fleet servicemen took part in exercises to liberate an Arctic port captured by simulated saboteurs.
The Northern Fleet ships will then continue to operate in the Arctic in accordance with the Arctic voyage plan.
The voyage of the Northern Fleet detachment of ships and support vessels began on August 5 and is being carried out as part of a set of measures aimed at ensuring the protection of the interests of the Russian Federation in the Arctic. During the voyage, the Northern Fleet servicemen are practicing tasks to ensure military security and maritime economic activity of the Russian Federation in the Arctic, the defense of continental and island territories, strategically important facilities, and counteracting illegal armed groups.
